DUI, criminal defense, and personal-injury attorneys post the highest average ratings in the country — plausibly because clients rate on outcome and effort in high-stakes, adversarial matters. Family law and complex transactional practices (M&A, tax, patents) rate lowest, consistent with the emotionally difficult (divorce) or less personally engaged (corporate) nature of the work.
