As an American whose father was born in a Colorado internment camp during World War II, I have always been aware of the human consequences that result from legal decisions. I bring to the table a wealth of experience. I spent the first eight years of my career as a public defender fighting for and protecting the constitutional rights of those charged with adult and juvenile misdemeanor and felony offenses.  I have also garnered great trial experience in both civil defense and civil plaintiff's work.  I have worked as in-house counsel for a large insurance company defending company insureds from tort claims.  My firm is committed to making sure that justice is served as promptly and completely as is possible under Washington law.. A few years ago, my father died due to someone else's negligence.  This was an extremely traumatic event for my family.  I personally know what it's like to have a loved one killed in a car accident due to someone else's negligence. Having gone through this experience, I understand the human component to this.  I know how important it is to have someone on your side fighting to make sure justice is obtained.
