Ms. Thorp graduated from Ithaca College in 2004 cum laude and went on to receive her J.D. from New England School of Law (now New England Law Boston) in 2007.  While at New England School of Law, Ms. Thorp was a member of the Women’s Law Caucus, and the Children and the Law Society, and she served as a mentor to other students.  During law school, Ms. Thorp also interned at the Committee for Public Counsel Services in the Children and Family Law Program and at a well-known Metrowest law firm, where she focused on domestic relations law and practiced for over six years after graduating from law school. In 2013, Ms. Thorp joined Baskin & Associates, LLC, now Baskin Kershner & Thorp, LLC, where she represents clients in all areas of family law.  Ms. Thorp also provides mediation services, including attorney-assisted mediation, as an alternative to litigation.. Ms. Thorp has been appointed by the Probate and Family Court to serve as Special Purpose Guardian ad Litem, Discovery Master, and attorney for children.  She is a volunteer for the Attorneys Representing Children (ARC) and Probate and Family Court Lawyer for the Day programs.  She also volunteers her time at Adoption and Foster Care (AFC) Mentoring, where she mentors a child in the custody of the Department of Children and Families. Ms. Thorp is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and is a member of the Massachusetts Family and Probate American Inn of Court, Boston Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, and Women’s Bar Association.
