Before starting work at the Law Offices of George H. Romania in January 2016, I worked as a staff attorney for a major insurance company, defending hundreds of personal injury actions from inception through to trial.  I originally started working for the insurance company as a law clerk while still in law school.  In addition to learning valuable research, writing, litigation and trial skills, I learned a great deal about how insurance companies and their claim adjusters investigate, defend, value and negotiate personal injury claims.  My experience working as a defense attorney has resulted in an ability to better prepare clients for depositions and other court proceedings, since I can anticipate the other side’s approach to each particular case.  In January 2019, I became a partner at Romania & Kenworthy, LLC.. I received my Juris Doctorate degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, in May, 2009.  While in law school, I served as the Articles and Opinions Editor of the Probate Law Journal, the fundraising chair for Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and participated on the school’s mock trial and dispute resolution competition teams.  I also interned in the United States District Court in Bridgeport, gaining valuable research and writing experience from working alongside a federal judge and the federal law clerks.  I received a number of academic awards while in school, including academic achievement awards in Property, Land Use and Planning, Investigative Criminal Procedure, Medical Malpractice and Patents Litigation, and at graduation, including Superior Classroom Performance, Service to the Law School and CATIC Foundation awards.. After graduating from Fairfield University with a degree in biology, I attended Sacred Heart University to complete the secondary education teacher certification program.  I began teaching middle school science to seventh and eighth grade students at a charter school operated by a non-profit organization in Stamford, CT.  I also spent a year teaching at a public middle school in Bridgeport before deciding to pursue a career in the law.. When not working on behalf of my clients, I enjoy playing and watching soccer and golf, watching live music, playing chess and spending time with my family and friends.
