Joel Bieber was born in Muncy, Pennsylvania. One grandfather was a farmer; the other a minister. His father is an educator/minister and his mother is a hospital lab technician/ artist. When asked how his upbringing influenced him, he almost always responds, “I know how to milk a cow; am comfortable in church, a barn or a hospital; and have no ability to paint.”. As a young man, he attended Old Dominion University where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science before attending Oklahoma City University Law School and graduating with his Juris Doctor in 1986. Attorney Bieber has an extensive list of experience; as a Congressional Legislative Aide for former Congressman William G. Whitehurst, as a Virginia Legislative Aide for former Delegate Melvin Spence, as the founding member of the North American Brain Injury Society, and as a long-time member of both the Virginia and South Carolina State Bars.
