Building on his trial advocacy skills and his success in trial competitions, John won his law school's mock trial competition as well as a regional competition held in Manhattan which brought him to the National Law School mock trial tournament in Texas where he was a semifinalist winner. John has been coaching the Huntington High School mock trial team since 2015 whereby in 2022 they won the Suffolk County Championship, and finished in second place in New York State out of over 400 teams.
