Nick graduated from the University of Kansas with bachelors degrees in both Philosophy and Psychology and then attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. While at UMKC School of Law, Nick was active in the academic community as a staff member of the UMKC Law Review and The Urban Lawyer, and he was selected to compete on the UMKC National Moot Court Team. During the Ellison Moot Court Competition, Nick’s was awarded best overall appellate brief. Graduating in the top 10% of his class, Mr. Hergott was awarded CALI awards for his academic efforts in Civil Procedure and Civil Litigation Drafting, and was selected by the faculty to the Order of Barristers, a national distinction given to ten members of his graduating class recognizing excellence in legal advocacy.. During law school, Nick clerked for a prominent plaintiff’s firm, gaining experience and understanding of plaintiff’s personal injury claims. He later clerked for a nationally recognized worker’s compensation and civil litigation firm representing insurance carriers, giving him the opportunity to see things from the other side of the table. Nick also interned with the Missouri State Public Defender as a Rule 13 intern, gaining valuable courtroom experience even before leaving school.. After graduation, Nick began working as an associate attorney at Larry V. Swall & Associates practicing primarily in the areas of criminal defense and family law. During his time at Swall & Associates, Nick gained extensive courtroom experience, going to court nearly every day.  In 2011, Nick founded Hergott Law, LLC, devoting his time to helping individuals fight for justice.. At Hergott Law LLC, he has surrounded himself with experienced plaintiff’s attorneys and has a wide network of litigation support.
