Jim joined Levine Smith Snider & Wilson in 2022 after practicing family law exclusively for two years. Prior to family law, Jim was an assistant district attorney for five years. He served as a gang and murder prosecutor in Troup County and as a special victim’s unit prosecutor in Athens-Clarke County, gaining significant litigation and negotiation experience. As a special victim’s unit prosecutor assisting children and domestic violence victims, he witnessed the good a family law attorney could do for families in crisis, which led him to make the transition to family law.. As a family law attorney, Jim utilizes the litigation and negotiation skills he gained as a prosecutor to obtain the best result possible for clients in divorce, custody, child support and legitimation cases. The opportunity to assist and guide people through the very difficult process of a divorce or custody battle brings him true fulfillment.. Jim was born and raised in Michigan. After attending law school at the University of Georgia, he decided to stay in Georgia where he says it simply “smells like sunshine.” He and his wife, Caitlyn, live in Peachtree Corners with their dog, Gregor, and their cat, Prince Charles.
