Sheri B. Hoidra, Esq., received her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law (UB Law), and her B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park.  She is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland.. Prior to forming her law practice, Sheri interned for the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Baltimore, MD, writing motions and appeals, and successfully arguing cases before Immigration Judges.  Sheri has also worked as a Rule 16 student attorney for the Immigrant Rights Clinic at UB Law, as a law clerk for the Office of the Public Defender in Baltimore County, and as an associate attorney for a Federal Hill-based law firm.  She intermittingly volunteers as an attorney with the Catholic Charities of Baltimore Esperanza Center.. In addition to a having a tremendous amount of practical experience, Sheri is a skilled negotiator, and served as team captain in the ABA Law Student Division Negotiation Competition during law school.  She was elected Vice President of Development for the Immigration Law Association (ILA) at UB Law, helping both to promote awareness of immigration law at the university and increase the amount of immigration pro bono work in the area.  Her dedication to advocacy culminated in membership in the Stephen L. Snyder Center for Litigation Skills and a Certificate of Concentration in Litigation and Advocacy.. Sheri decided to open the Sheri Hoidra Law Office, LLC, because of her commitment to providing people an affordable alternative to “big law” without sacrificing quality legal work.  She provides flat-fee rates for all of her cases because she believes that clients deserve to know exactly how much they will spend before making a conscious decision to hire an attorney.. Sheri’s areas of practice in Maryland include: Family Law, Criminal Law defense in MD District Courts, DUI/DWI defense, auto accident litigation, and will drafting.  She practices immigration law at a national level, which is her lifelong passion.  As an Iranian-American immigrant whose parents escaped the aftermath of the Iranian Revolution and sought asylum in the United States, Sheri is familiar with the difficulties involved in obtaining status in this country and truly sympathizes with her clients.
