He was admitted to the Nebraska Bar in 1998 and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska. He is a member of the Omaha Bar Association, the Nebraska State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.. In 1994, Dan was a Senior Staff Member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. and worked as staff member for Jon Christensen. He was elected to the Omaha City Council District 5 seat in 2001 and was re-elected in 2005 and elected as President of the Council. In 2015, he was elected Chairman of the Nebraska Republican Party, a position he currently holds.. Currently, Dan is a Principal of Welch Law Firm, P.C., specializing in auto and general liability defense, civil rights, tax and business litigation, personal injury litigation and transactional matters.
