Matt R. Majernik is an attorney at Allison & Mosby-Scott where he heads the firm’s Estate Planning, Elder Law and Cyber Bullying practices.  Matt’s practice areas include estate planning, elder law, family law, business law and anit-cyber bullying. He has significant experience in the areas of divorce/dissolution of marriage, parentage actions, custody, child support, orders of protection, stalking no contact orders, and adoptions. Additionally, his experience includes drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney and other necessary estate planning documents, as well as handling the probate of an estate. Matt is also a trained mediator and works with clients in mediation, so they can avoid the time and expense of litigation.. A native of Central Illinois, Matt Majernik grew up in Streator, Illinois. After high school, Matt graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing. Mr. Majernik then attended Southern Illinois University where he obtained his Juris Doctor. In law school, Mr. Majernik served as a staff writer and editor for the Journal of Legal Medicine. He was also awarded the prestigious SIU School of Law Alumni Association Scholarship.. Matt began his legal career working as a law clerk for the Honorable Arnold F. Blockman, the presiding judge for the family law division of Champaign County. Mr. Majernik then worked in private practice at a family law firm in Champaign County before joining Allison & Mosby-Scott.. Matt and his wife Elizabeth have two children.
