Mr. Hoskins is a 1985, summa cum laude, graduate of Syracuse University College of Law where he graduated fourth in his class.  While at Syracuse, he served as the Managing Editor of the Syracuse Law Review and was awarded the Order of the Coif.  He received his undergraduate education at the New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University, which he attended on a four year Army ROTC Scholarship.. After graduation from law school, Mr. Hoskins was assigned to the Office of the Army General Counsel as a participant in the Army General Counsel's Honors Program.  While with the General Counsel's office, his duties focused on providing legal and policy advice on issues involving the Clean Water Act, the National Environment Policy Act and Water Resources Development Act of 1986 and 1988.. Upon a completion of his military service, Mr. Hoskins accepted a position as an associate with the Baltimore law firm of Goodell, DeVries, Leech & Gray where he concentrated on civil litigation involving products liability, commercial, toxic tort, and insurance coverage matters.  His experience in sophisticated product liability litigation included participating in the defense of the manufacturer of an allegedly defective mechanical heart valve.. Mr. Hoskins joined the Law Offices of Peter G. Angelos in December, 1993 and was principally responsible for handling sophisticated personal injury and wrongful death cases, including cases involving allegations of product liability.  Mr. Hoskins also served as co-liaison counsel for the various lawsuits brought by the firm against the tobacco industry, including litigation brought on behalf of the State of Maryland and separate class action lawsuits brought on behalf of citizens of Maryland and the District of Columbia.. In June 2000, Mr. Hoskins left the Angelos firm to open his own law office dedicated to providing personalized representation to injured individuals and their families.  Since founding the firm, Mr. Hoskins has helped individuals seriously injured by automobile accidents receive fair compensation for their injuries.  His firm brought the first lawsuits in Maryland against the tobacco industry seeking recovery for injuries caused by the synergistic effects of asbestos and cigarette smoke.  His firm is currently involved in ground breaking litigation seeking to obtain the remedies provided by the Maryland Secondary Mortgage Loan law on behalf of thousands of Maryland residents.. On September 11, 2001, Mr. Hoskins was driving home from a court appearance in Annapolis, Maryland when he learned that American Airlines flight 77, traveling at an estimated 350 miles per hour at tree top height, crashed into the Pentagon.  One hundred twenty-five employees and visitors were killed at the Pentagon along with sixty-four people aboard the airplane.  Hundreds others were severely injured.  Mr. Hoskins represented two of the victims before the Victim’s Compensation Fund established by Congress.  Mr. Hoskins donated his legal services to the victims in conjunction with Trial Lawyers Care, Inc., a non-profit corporation set up by volunteer trial lawyers across the nation to provide free legal services to the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.. Mr. Hoskins is licensed to practice in Maryland, New York and the District of Columbia.
