Robert J. Baker was born in 1962, in the southern heat of Virginia. After graduating high school, he chose to serve our country by joining the United States Army. As a veteran, Robert used his discipline to fight his way through Western Michigan University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting in 1994. Thomas M. Cooley Law School awarded him a Juris Doctorate in 1997.. Originally entering the business world successfully, by turning around the business operations of Frontier Technologies, Inc., Robert decided that opening his own law firm was his destiny.. I have successfully tried numerous cases before judges and juries in both Michigan and Kentucky as a prosecutor and defense attorney. I am responsive and compassionate.I am a Kentucky native, but now reside in Saugatuck, Allegan County. I am married with two children, a dog Oscar, and two very friendly barn cats. In my free time (ha!) I love to poke around antique shops and plan trips to see our family.

I am now the elected Prosecutor for Allegan County.  My private practice is closed, so I will not be taking on any new clients.  I am grateful for all of the years I've had in private practice and really appreciate the clients I've had and the acquaintances I've made.  I am proud to be the head of the Allegan County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney and look forward to many years of doing all I can to make sure that Allegan County is a safe and prosperous community.. I graduated from the University of Michigan Law School and went on to hold clerkships for the Honorable George R. Corsiglia in the Allegan Circuit Court and for the Michigan Court of Appeals. Since entering private practice in 1993, I have participated in numerous high visibility cases throughout Southwest Michigan.. I have also worked for one of the largest law firms in America, Dorsey & Whitney. Dorsey & Whitney employed over 330 attorneys and had offices in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Brussels (Belgium), London (England), and Paris (France). While demanding, Dorsey & Whitney prepared me for legal practice at the highest levels.. My practice included criminal defense, drunk driving, personal injury, wrongful death, divorce, family law, general civil litigation, wills and trusts, corporate law, and medical malpractice.
