Prior to joining Cashion Gilmore LLC, of counsel, Mera worked at the law firm of Ashburn & Mason where she focused on building a civil litigation practice and assisted in the firm's oil and gas litigation and regulatory practices.  Mera's work at Ashburn & Mason included successfully representing a local business through a contentious muti-week jury trial.. My practice as a licensed attorney began in federal court, clerking for the Honorable James K. Singleton.  During that time I developed a passion for criminal defense, and subsequently had the honor of working for the Alaska Public Defender Agency in both rural and urban settings.  Ultimately, I became the supervisor of the trial unit in the Anchorage office of the Alaska Public Defender Agency, overseeing all felony and misdemeanor trial attorneys.  I developed a broad base of trail experience during my time with the Agency, and am grateful for the tremendous opportunity it afforded.  Now in private practice, I am continuing my work as a criminal defense attorney, and also expanding into other forms of civil litigation in conjunction with my skilled law partners.  I view trial practice as a stronghold of my practice, and I enjoy representing fellow Alaskans in trial settings.

Michael Moberly handles litigation cases statewide, both criminal and civil. Presently, his caseload is primarily criminal, emphasizing serious felonies (both state and federal) and federal environmental and white collar crime. In 1984 I spent a year abroad, studying at the Gymnasium Mussenredder in Hamburg, Germany.. I graduated from the University at Santa Barbara in 1985 with Honors in History and German Literature. I obtained my law degree in 1991 from McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. In 1992, I left California, and moved to Alaska. When I arrived in Alaska, I clerked for a Superior Court Judge and then worked as a public defender for approximately 5 years. I opened my own law firm and limited my practice to the areas of criminal defense, family law, and personal injury.. On June 20, 2011, I was featured as co-counsel on 48 Hours television program, CBS murder of Bonnie Craig, a 17 year-old cold case.
