I have trained young attorneys, taught at law enforcement academies, including the Anchorage Police Department’s Academy and the Trooper Academy, and taught criminalists from the state’s Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory.. In 2006, I served as Acting-Director of the Office of Victims Rights. In 2007, I was appointed to be the Anchorage District Attorney. In 2008, I began working with the Office of Public Advocacy representing indigent clients in criminal, juvenile and children’s cases. I enjoyed representing people. In 2010 I opened my own law office, where I had the privilege of providing legal representation to Alaskans of diverse socio-economic backgrounds on a variety of legal issues.
