The child of two attorneys, Alex didn’t always plan to practice law-he started out in film school at American University in Washington, D.C. But, during a college summer spent working with his mother as she built a new practice, the law won him over. Today, he combines his film school experience with his legal education and practice experience to strengthen his trial presentation skills and enhance other areas of his legal practice.. Alex graduated cum laude from Georgia State University School of Law in June of 2013. While studying law, Alex was a member of the Moot Court Board and served as an Honor Court Justice. In addition to being a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Alex also belongs to the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice In the fall of 2015, Alex was selected as member of the 2015-2016 Georgia Trial Lawyers Association’s Leadership Education & Advanced Direction (LEAD) class. Melissa was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She moved to Atlanta to obtain her undergraduate education at Emory University. In her third year, she was accepted into Emory’s Goizueta School of Business and received her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2009. After graduation, she spent a year working for a Plaintiff’s firm specializing in workers’ compensation law, which furthered her desire to become a lawyer. Melissa attended law school at Georgia State University School of Law where she served as a member of Law Review and the Moot Court Board. She received her Juris Doctor Degree in 2013.. Melissa has spent the first ten years of her practice defending workers’ compensation claims in Georgia and Tennessee. Having sat on the opposite side of the courtroom for so many years, Melissa has gained key insight into how defendants attack valid injury claims.
