John Ruddy has been practicing law since 1977.  John graduated form the University of Denver and obtained his J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of litigation concerning family law, bankruptcy reorganization, and commercial matters.He is the former chairperson of the Commercial, Banking and Bankruptcy Committee of the Kane County Bar Association  and is a former bankruptcy trustee.  He has also spoken at seminars for the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services.John speaks conversational Spanish.

I work to provide solutions for families who are burdened with the issues of long term care.  The solutions often involve estate and tax planning, medicaid planning, veterans benefit planning, and the use of different types of trusts.. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Kelly and my son Rockne. I personally enjoy partaking in anything sports related.  My favorite teams include the Chicago White Sox and Dallas Cowboys.

I spent all of my childhood in northern Illinois; nonetheless, I have had the opportunity to study languages and cultures in various countries from Papua New Guinea to the Czech Republic. I  have also studied in Mexico, Spain, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. I have taught Spanish at both the junior high and high school level in New Jersey.
