Jason Snell came to establish his own law practice via a rather circuitous route.. Jason graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. His minor area of interest was Business Communication. During his undergraduate studies, Jason reported for the school newspaper and held various leadership positions on campus, including president of both his graduating class and fraternity.. Jason also distinguished himself academically during his undergraduate studies by consistently being named to the President's and Dean's List. After college, Jason worked as a laborer in the construction industry in petrochemical refineries in the Port Arthur Area, and taught school at his alma mater, Port Neches-Groves High School, in Port Neches, Texas.. In 1996, Jason began law school at Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. During law school, Jason won the American Jurisprudence Award for academic excellence and was initiated into the honorary legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi (top 25% of class).. Jason then left Texas and traveled extensively in Europe. While in Europe, Jason studied comparative law, land transactions, and transactions in goods at the prestigious The Queen's College, Oxford University, in England. Jason returned to Texas and in 1999 graduated cum laude with a law degree from Texas Tech School of Law.. In 1999, Jason was awarded his attorney's license in Texas and began the practice of law as an associate at Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP in Dallas, Texas. At Thompson Coe, Jason's primary area of practice was civil litigation and the defense of insureds and insurance companies in cases involving personal injury.. After practicing for several years in Dallas, Jason moved to New York City where he was awarded his attorney's license in 2003. While in New York City, in probably the toughest, most adversarial legal environment in the country, Jason continued to practice civil litigation, defending against personal injury lawsuits on behalf of insureds and insurance companies. Jason also began his construction practice while in New York City, representing owners, developers, construction managers, contractors, and design professionals on large-scale construction projects.. In 2007, Jason returned to his native Texas to establish his own law firm, The Snell Law Firm, PLLC.. When away from work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, running, hiking in the Hill Country, traveling, and visiting his home in Marfa, Texas.

I’ve wanted to be a lawyer since I was a little kid. I had no idea that I would be representing families across the state of Texas in difficult and emotional divorces and custody cases.. Where did I start in order to get here? My guess is that it is not where you’d think. I was raised in Waxahachie, Texas, a small town south of Dallas. I was born in Wisconsin, but I came to Texas as soon as I could when I was three years old; it has been my home ever since. I am one of seven children – five natural born and two brothers adopted. Both my parents bleed Aggie maroon (although only one of their children went to A&M). My dad was a veterinarian and owned his own practice and my mom a homemaker in charge of the seven children. I am the only lawyer in my family.. I attended the University of Texas School of Law after completing my undergraduate degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC. At UT Law, I immediately figured out that my personality would be better suited in a courtroom and working directly with clients, instead of pushing paper for large corporations. My third year of law school, I turned my focus to litigation and worked as a student attorney at the University of Texas Domestic Violence Clinic. At the end of my time in law school, I took a job at a boutique, high-end family law litigation firm in Austin, Texas, where I would spend the first five years of my career.. Since getting out of law school, I’ve learned a lot professionally, and I’ve learned a lot personally.. I got married right after law school and a few years after my then wife gave birth to my son Parker, who I love with all my heart. But when Parker was just a baby, his mom and I went through a divorce. At the time of my divorce, I had represented hundreds of clients through their own divorces and it was becoming second nature for me. My own divorce changed all that. It was hard on me. It was hard on my ex-wife. I’m sure it was hard on our son. But we got through it, and I’m grateful for the lessons that I learned in my own divorce and how I can now truly relate to my clients.. My divorce was finalized in 2015. But that wasn’t the hardest thing I would face that year. Just a couple of months after my divorce decree was signed, my father passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60. He died at the veterinarian clinic, which is where you would always find him if he wasn’t at church or with his family.. Getting that phone call was the hardest thing I have ever had to go through in my life. But it made me a better person, a better lawyer, and a better father to my children.. Professionally, I’ve learned what my father always taught me about running his own business – never work for anyone else and try to do it your own way if you can. I’ve worked for traditional and elitist law firms during and after law school. I’ve been in the corner office. I’ve tried cases where the lawyers bring boxes upon boxes of paper to the courthouse that never see the light of day the courtroom. And I can tell you after all of my experience that these lawyers are falling short.. The traditional law firm relies on paper, servers, and fax machines. Clients are treated as if they are below the lawyers. The law firm clunks around, clients do not know what is going on with their case, and cases have to settle for bad deals before Court because the lawyers are either disorganized or unprepared for what happens at the courthouse or are unaware of what could happen at the courthouse.Brian and I do things differently. We have always committed to utilizing technology and striving to be an efficient law firm focused on the client, not us. We’re paperless, on the cloud, efficient and laser focused on our client needs. Our approach is newer, different, and better.. Today I sit here as a proud business owner and a proud father. Since my divorce, I remarried to the love of my life, Sarah Gilbreath, who now the CEO of the law firm. Sarah is my best friend, my partner, and the most beautiful and amazing woman I've ever met in my life. I look at her and my children every day wondering how I got so lucky. Just a few years ago, Sarah gave birth to my second child, Harper, and again in 2020, we were blessed with another child, Walker. Walker, Harper and Parker are the love of my life. Everything Sarah and I do, we do for them, just like my parents did for me. Sarah and I could not be prouder of our children. We are building this law firm with Brian hoping to make all our children proud.. I have been Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2015. I am rated 10.0 Superb by and have hundreds five-star reviews across Google and Avvo. I have been selected as a Rising Star by Texas SuperLawyers every year since 2017 and in 2020 I was named as one of the Top 100 Up and Coming by SuperLawyers I am frequently asked to serve as a guest speaker on various family law and litigation matters, with a particular focus on trial work and jury trials. I try more cases each year to judges, arbitrators and juries than a vast majority of my peers, and with our team, we do it different and we do it better.I used to have a trick I used at the end of a potential client consultations – I still pull it out every once in a while. At the end of the consult I’d tell the potential client to text me in the next day or so; see if I text back right away. And I always would.. That’s the kind of lawyer I want to be. You can always find me on my cell phone, my email, or by reaching out to my amazing team. I hope our paths cross someday soon.

In 2017, after working over 21 years and becoming a partner at a highly respected Austin boutique litigation firm, I founded my own private practice, The Law Firm of T. Wade Jefferies, to help individuals and businesses throughout Texas efficiently resolve commercial, civil, divorce, and family law disputes. In 2024, my long term colleague and friend, Scott Herlihy, and I formed Jefferies & Herlihy, LLC.. I am an accomplished and seasoned litigator who focuses on commercial litigation, civil litigation and family law throughout Texas. I have represented numerous individuals in multi-million dollar disputes including representing a real estate company against John Wooley, Schlotzsky's CEO at the time; representing a well-known Austin architect and builder in settling a Judgment obtained by Sandra Bullock; representing a competitor of Waste Management Services in a lawsuit against Waste Management Services; representing a partner in an Austin-based consulting firm to life insurance companies in a lawsuit against his partner; and representing a multi-national health supplement provider in a dispute against his partner. I was also an integral part of a team of lawyers who obtained a $180 million judgment against Health Net, Inc, a large California based health care provider.. I also represent several businesses as their "outside" in-house counsel.. In addition, I have successfully handled numerous family law matters. I have represented numerous high-wealth individuals going through a divorce. In one case, after trial, the Court granted my client over 60% of the community estate plus close to $100, in attorney's fees. In numerous high-asset divorce cases, I have represented the wives with husbands who own successful businesses. The husbands generally claim that the businesses have no real value. With my accounting background and commercial litigation experience, I was able to determine the actual value of the business and reach a settlement favorable to my clients. Going through a divorce several years ago, I was exactly where my family law clients are and, because of that, I can offer empathy and help in a way that is unique and solution oriented.. My accounting background coupled with the breadth and depth of legal experience provides me with the ability to efficiently and effectively represent my commercial, civil and family law clients. I am peer rated AV Preeminent by my peers defined as "the highest peer rating standard. This rating signifies that a large number of the lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal knowledge, communication skills, and ethical standards." I am also a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. The Litigation Counsel of America is an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society established to reflect the new face of the American bar. Membership is limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.. I look forward to protecting your interests.. - Wade

I was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. I grew up cheering for the University of Kansas Jayhawks, so naturally, I earned my Bachelor’s of Social Work, Master’s of Social Work, and Juris Doctor from KU.. While pursuing my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, I volunteered at the local domestic violence center and answered the crisis hotline. When I graduated with my Master’s degree, I started working for the domestic violence center full time. I helped victims safety plan around violence, leave abusive relationships safely, connected them with attorneys to represent them in legal proceedings, and accompanied them to Court as a source of support. Watching the injustices that survivors of domestic violence faced in the legal system is what led me to pursue becoming an attorney.. While attending the University of Kansas School of Law, I focused on litigation and interned for the local district attorney's office. After law school, the mountains called my name so I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where I worked in child support enforcement for three years. As a child support enforcement lawyer, I established paternity and support orders, modified support orders, prosecuted contempt actions for non-payment of child support, and facilitated a problem-solving court. I was actively involved in the Ben S. Wendelken American Inn of Court and the El Paso County Young Lawyers Association. On the weekends, I could be found in the mountains with my husband, either hiking with my golden retriever or snowboarding.. My husband is a native Texan so we were very excited when his military service brought us to central Texas. Practicing family law in Texas has been the most enjoyable part of my legal career and assiting clients in the most important transition of their lives has been the most rewarding part of my legal practice.

I was a freshman at Texas Tech University when I first saw injustice with my own eyes. I worked at the Lubbock County Detention Center and spent hours with detainees, building friendships, learning about their lives, their struggles, and how they ended up in the criminal system. From that point forward, I knew I wanted to spend my career fighting for people in the criminal legal system.. I’m a first-generation American and grew up in an immigrant household. My mom was raised in Colombia and my dad is from Greece. They had to start over after leaving their home countries, so they understand the value of education, helping others, and embracing diversity.. My parents encouraged me to prioritize education and instilled the importance of helping others in me. I am forever indebted to their sacrifices. That’s why after graduating with a degree in social work, I chose to work with incarcerated individuals, people in recovery, and foster children.. Every person I met had some involvement with the law and I knew I wanted to be on their side, helping them navigate the system. I continued my education at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. During my time in Norman, I spent my summers in Oklahoma, Houston, and Austin interning for brilliant and passionate criminal defense attorneys. I assisted on cases ranging from assault and family violence to capital murder.. My job at Cofer & Connelly is to relentlessly advocate for my clients. I have a diverse practice, but lead our efforts on expunctions, administrative license revocations, and license eligibility. I also participate in new client meetings and take lead on translating for our Spanish speaking clients.. Aside from work, a lot of things make me happy! I love to travel. My favorite places are Greece and Colombia, where I get to spend time with my family and eat a lot of good food. I also love to read. My favorite book is A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, and Mark Pryor is my favorite author. Most importantly, I love doing outdoor things with my dog, Oscar! He’s the greatest Aussie ever.

I think the most important consideration in choosing a lawyer is trust.  Your reputation, your criminal record, your liberty and sometimes quite literally your life is in this person's hands.  You must trust absolutely that the person who stands between you and your freedom will do everything possible to best advocate your case.. Austin, TX criminal lawyer are problem solvers. Our job is to help people in trouble. That's why I became an attorney. Everyone, in their worst hour, deserves someone to stand by their side. I have always said, "If someone wants to prosecute my client, they have to get past me first." I strive to give my clients the best defense possible. That means conducting my own investigation. It also means making sure the police and prosecutors do not cheat and do not railroad my clients rights.. That’s what drives me in the often hostile environment of negotiating claims, litigation and dispute resolution - the idea that at the end I can help my clients achieve a sense of justice through the work I do.  As a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, I am committed to preserving our judicial system for future generations, preserving the independence of judges, and elevating the standards of integrity, honor, ethics, civility and courtesy in the legal profession.. When I’m working with a client, I like to look at the situation from angles that others may miss and to imagine all of the possible scenarios and outcomes.  I enjoy mediation and believe that an attorney can help achieve a client’s goals through tough negotiation.  I also believe that there are times when taking a case to a jury is the way to realize justice.. I think one of the best things a lawyer can do for a client is to look him or her in the eye and give an honest opinion of the strength of their claims and whether it is in their best interest to negotiate or go to trial.
