In 2013, Jessica joined the law firm of Mark Morales & Associates, P.C., as an Associate Attorney. While there, Jessica handled criminal cases comprising a large-case load, including felony and misdemeanor settings in multiple counties—Bell, Caldwell, Comal, Hays, Travis, and Williamson. She also appeared on misdemeanor trials and at hearings, including nondisclosures, expunctions, and at the Texas Board of Pardons & Paroles.After graduating, Jessica joined the Law Offices of Leticia A. Gonzalez. Her primary focus was workers’ compensation cases, personal injury, immigration, and real estate. She defended injured workers at seven contested case hearings, of which she won five, and she engaged in other tasks to assist the law firm.In law school, Jessica served as an Executive Editor on The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice. While attending law school, Jessica worked for the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the Dilley Law Firm (a plaintiff litigation firm), George A Taylor, Attorney at Law (a criminal-defense practice located in the heart of San Antonio).Jessica graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2012, with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, and was admitted to practice law in the State of Texas on November 1, 2012. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies/Politics & Diplomacy, and she minored in Spanish and History.
