Frederic C. Heyman joined the practice of Bennett & Heyman, P.A. in 2012 with a focus on medical malpractice and personal injury litigation, after a successful 13-year career as a senior trial attorney at the law firm of Peter G. Angelos, P.C. where he also represented victims of medical negligence and serious personal injury/motor tort and product liability.. Frank Spector is the third generation of lawyers in his family. At an early age he saw lawyers who represented injured people and he developed a sense of compassion for them. Emily Malarkey joined the firm in 2006 after completing an appellate judicial clerkship for the Honorable Sally D. Adkins on the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. Since then, she has developed a busy practice in the areas of medical negligence, wrongful death, and other catastrophic injury. Ms. Malarkey has served as co-counsel in numerous jury trials, including three with verdicts in excess of $2 million. Carlos G. After that, Mr. Slutkin and his partners represented the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in its fraud case against Ernst & Young arising from the billion-dollar failure of Superior Bank in Chicago. That case netted the FDIC $125 million from Ernst. More recently, in a case that settled for $190 million, the trial judge observed in a written opinion that the result appeared to be “the largest settlement of a Class Action founded upon allegations of sexual abuse.” The judge further stated that the “unprecedented results would not have been achieved without the unique judgment, care, resources, determination, talent skills and experience” of Mr. Slutkin and his colleagues.
