Rory P. Pheiffer is an associate in the firm’s Business Department and a member of the intellectual property practice group. He focuses his practice primarily on the prosecution of domestic and international patents in a variety of fields including medical instruments and devices, biotechnology, microfluidic applications, and various devices in the electrical and mechanical arts. A sampling of some of the medical technologies that Rory has worked with include devices and methods for tissue and ligament attachment, tissue engineering, blood sampling devices, electrochemical cells, respiratory apparatuses, surgical instruments, endoscopic devices, gastric bands and bypass procedures, cell sorting apparatuses, stents, scaffolds, drug delivery devices and methods, and nucleic acid analysis devices.In addition to prosecuting patents, Rory also has experience analyzing international patent portfolios, negotiating and drafting licenses, advising clients with respect to trademark portfolios, and protecting clients’ trademark rights.
