Lainie Hammond is your counsel in the IOLTA business.  Her practice focuses on helping lawyers meet their obligations under RPC 1.15A and 1.15B, as well as representing those facing grievances and trust account overdrafts.  Formerly, she worked as the Washington State Bar Association IOLTA random auditor and as the WSBA Custodianship Counsel, which involved taking over lawyers' files in cases of disbarment, death, or disappearance.  She assisted in manning the Ethics Hotline, worked as an Advisor in the Law Office Management Assistance Program, and as staff liaison to the Young Lawyer's Committee.  Before working at WSBA, Lainie was a federal investigator for the US Department of Labor, EBSA, enforcing ERISA compliance, and consulted overseas on issues related to conflicts of interest and fraud detection in pension and health care plans.

J. Bowman Neely is a graduate of New York University (B.A., 1995), the Art Institute of Chicago (painting), and the University of Montana School of Law (J.D., 2004). During law school, Mr. Neely was the editor-in-chief of the Montana Law Review. He worked as a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office. Mr. Neely then clerked for Federal Magistrate Judge Lief B. Erickson. He has studied abroad as a visiting student at Oxford University, and is proficient in French and Spanish. Before law school, he was involved in the arts working for Sotheby’s Auction House in New York and for a private dealer, as well as in the role of an artist exhibiting in New York and Los Angeles. Mr. Neely has experience working on public-private development partnerships, commercial real estate agreements, land use, water rights, and renewable energy matters. He is a member of the bar of Washington.
