Matthew was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the surrounding suburb of Greenfield, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting (2004) with Honors and Distinction. While a student at the University of Iowa, he was involved with many philantrhropic events and community service projects.
