Personal service is what we are about at the Law Offices of Jeffrey W. Jensen.  I am a sole practitioner, so when you call, I will know who you are and what is going on with your case.  There are no client numbers, nor do you have to work your way from receptionist, to personal assistant, to the attorney's voice mail, like in the big firms.  On the other hand, I share office space with nine other lawyers, so there is safety in numbers.  The attorneys help one  another, which means that you will never be left in court unrepresented because I am tied up in a trial.  Also, between all of the lawyers, we can handle mostly every sort of legal problem.  Give us a call, and see what you think.

My major interests outside of work are my family including three children, one adorable (if I may say so myself) grandson and a large, friendly, not very bright black labrador retriever, not necessarily in that order.. I am a runner, although not a very fast one, but I benefit from a dwindling number of competitors in my age group on the theory that if I can't get faster, at least I can get older.. I enjoy traveling and have been honored to lead groups of family law professionals to South Africa, Vietnam and Cambodia, Rwanda and Cuba.  Finally, for 11 weekends every fall (12 if they make a bowl game), I am intensly concerned that the Wisconsin Badgers do not fall back on the old habits from the days I went to school there - all wins are welcome.

Milwaukee lawyer Chelsea L. Williamson’s primary motivation in practicing family law is to help people in especially trying situations.. Emotions are heightened in family law cases, so Ms. Williamson provides her clients with a source of stability and always looks out for their best interest.. “Family law was appealing because of the combination of the legal aspect with the therapeutic aspect,” Ms. Williamson said. “So many of our clients just want someone to listen to them and tell them that their feelings are valid.”. Ms. Williamson has the unique ability to both listen and empathize. At the end of the day, she is honest about the situation facing each of her clients, but she also always is available if they simply need to vent.. “I believe I am able to connect with clients and let them know that I hear what they feel and what they want and that I understand where they are coming from,” Ms. Williamson said. “Even what they feel or want is legally not in their best interest, I want them to know that I understand and will help guide them to the best possible solution.. “The legal process works at its own pace, but it will all come together in the end. I’m here to help them 100% of the way even beyond the pleadings and the court hearings. I am here to listen to their concerns, help them figure out what they ultimately want and do the stressing and the worrying for them. I am also here to make sure they are not taken advantage of.”

Michael Hanrahan provides businesses and individuals with legal counsel and advocacy services on a variety of topics, with a primary focus on litigation matters. Mr. Hanrahan is an experienced trial attorney, having represented clients in state and federal courts in more than twenty jury trials and a dozen court trials. He has also represented business clients in Wisconsin administrative proceedings involving discrimination and unemployment compensation claims.. In addition to his extensive courtroom experience, Mr. Hanrahan is a talented brief writer and has handled a number of appeals. For example, Mr. Hanrahan tried a commercial case involving a large industrial metal stamping press to a Jefferson County jury. After receiving a successful jury verdict in favor of his client under Wisconsin’s False Advertising Statute, the defendant appealed. Mr. Hanrahan briefed and argued the case to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, with the Court affirming the judgment for his client. (K&S Tool & Die v. Perfection Machinery Sales, 301 109, 732 N.W.2d 792 (2007)). See () The Court’s decision stands as a leading decision under this developing area of law. Mr. Hanrahan has also briefed and argued cases to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.. As part of his civil litigation practice, Mr. Hanrahan regularly represents businesses and individuals regarding covenants not to compete, trade secret matters and confidentiality agreements. He has provided pre-lawsuit legal counseling and contract drafting for covenants not to compete, and judicial briefing and jury trial services as to covenants not to compete. In a recent jury trial involving a covenant not to compete, Mr. Hanrahan obtained a successful jury verdict in favor of his client on a trade secret claim, and, through legal briefing, a judicial declaration of the covenant not to compete’s invalidity, resulting in a complete victory for his client.. During Mr. Hanrahan’s first several years as an attorney, his practice focused on representing insurance companies, and he gained extensive experience in insurance coverage disputes. Since then, he has regularly represented business clients in insurance coverage disputes, including appellate cases. He has also handled professional negligence claims, including medical, dental and accounting malpractice claims. As part of his representation of insurers, Mr. Hanrahan handled a variety of personal injury lawsuits, including negligence and strict product liability cases. With this experience, Mr. Hanrahan has continued to represent clients in personal injury actions, primarily representing injured parties. He has successfully represented individuals in personal injury cases involving food borne illness, products liability and vehicular accidents.. Mr. Hanrahan also has gained significant experience in construction litigation matters. Mr. Hanrahan has represented developers in lawsuits against contractors for breach of contract and building defects. He has also represented contractors who have been forced to utilize their lien rights and pursue claims against developers and/or owners in order to be paid for their work. While in college, Mr. Hanrahan has worked as a laborer for a general contractor, thereby gaining a firsthand understanding of building trades and construction processes and the challenges that come with them.. In representing the firm’s clients over the years, Mr. Hanrahan has also litigated matters involving minority shareholder rights and securities claims. In such matters, Mr. Hanrahan employed business valuation methods and analysis. Such tools have also been valuable in the family law work that Mr. Hanrahan has performed. Often, the most contested issues in a family law matter will involve the valuation of closely held business interests and/or the income that is produced by closely held businesses. In such circumstances, Mr. Hanrahan’s experience as a commercial litigator adds significant value to his representation of family law clients.. While Mr. Hanrahan has the experience to take cases to trial with confidence, he recognizes that litigation can be a time consuming and expensive process. As such, Mr. Hanrahan provides advice and counsel to his clients regarding the potential of settlement throughout the litigation process. He has represented his clients in dozens of mediations, many of which have resulted in satisfactory settlements for his clients. In appropriate circumstances, Mr. Hanrahan uses creative resolution processes. For example, in one case, he negotiated an agreement with the opposing party to settle some aspects of the case, entered binding arbitration for other aspects of the case and tried the remainder of the case to a circuit court jury. Of course, each case is different, and Mr. Hanrahan has shown the ability to be tough when necessary, while continuing to interact with the opposing party in a professional and reasonable manner, thereby keeping the possibility of settlement discussions open at all times.

Firm: The Law Office of Marcus B Hirsch LLC

Marcus Hirsch is the founder and senior partner of the Law Office of Marcus B. Hirsch, LLC. He handles family, civil, traffic, and “light” criminal matters, along with a whole host of randomly intriguing cases brought to him that keep law work interesting. These cases oftentimes start with clients asking, “Do you do (insert strangely unique circumstances and type of case)?”. Marcus grew up in the year-round warmth and sunny tropical comfort of West Palm Beach, Florida, but wound up in the snow and coldness of Milwaukee after graduation from Marquette University Law School in 2015. He is well-known among friends and colleagues for paying homage to his roots by wearing sandals despite the extreme Wisconsin weather until it’s absolutely impractical and borderline dangerous for the health of his feet.. In his spare time, Marcus supports the local South Florida professional sports teams (especially the Florida Panthers and Miami Heat), and as a University of Miami alum, the Hurricanes. He can be found skating for one of his two adult hockey league teams, on a softball field chasing down fly balls in the outfield, or in front of a TV cheering and willing his fantasy sports franchise, The Jabronis, to victory.

Firm: Hansen & Hildebrand, S.C.

I work as an attorney and mediator at Hansen and Hildebrand in the area of family law, specifically divorce, post-judgment, child custody, child support and family-related financial issues. I also worked part-time as a Deputy Family Court Commissioner for 7 years in Racine County, Wisconsin where I heard a wide variety of matters including child support enforcement, temporary hearings, post-judgment motions and stipulated final divorces.. An attorney should be a guide for a person through the legal system. Protecting them from dangers but also pointing things out that might be beneficial.. As a practicing lawyer, I have always tried to serve in this role. The client's goals are primary; my job is to use legal machinery to reach those goals. This is particularly important in family law where it is sometimes too easy to let legal outcomes drive the aciton, instead of what is best for a person and their family.. In my spare time I enjoy running, playing guitar, meditating, reading and attending baseball games.

I can call myself a family litigation specialist because I exclusively handle cases that affect your family. I differentiate myself from other attorneys in my communication and advocacy style.. CommunicationYou would be shocked to learn that most litigators are terrible communicators. Apparently, they do not return their clients’ phone calls, ignore emails, and fail to meet with their clients prior to the next court date. Their clients end up in life-changing litigation completely stressed out because they do not know the status of their case. I know this to be true because I have two types of clients. The first who meet with me prior to filing any lawsuit and want to do it right. The second who hired these other attorneys and are completely frustrated with their case.. I will never understand this trend because attorneys talk for a living so who are these practitioners talking to if not their own clients? I view myself as not just a counselor and advocate but as a stress-reducer. The best way to reduce a client’s stress is with robust and effective communication. You are not in court every week like I am. This may be your first and only appearance before a Judge. The best way to get you through this process as painless as possible is to make sure you know exactly what to expect, say, and do.. AdvocacyAt the end of the day, I’m going to get you court orders that affect your life, not mine. This is your case. I am a tool to get you from where you are to where you want to be. Afterwards, if you never want to see me again professionally – great – that’s the goal.. Because this is your case, children, finances, etc., I am not going to tell you what to do. Lazy and arrogant attorneys tell their clients what to accept as an outcome as if they alone know what is best for all situations. I’m going to tell you what I think is reasonable, what your Judge may do, and what could be your best and worst case scenario, but ultimately you will decide on where to compromise and which issue(s) to litigate.. The Twin PillarsThese twin pillars of my practice are meant to shift the focus away from the attorney and back on the client. Most attorneys (and, therefore, law firms) care far too much about themselves. They spend inordinate amounts of money on the flowers in their foyer (true story), what kind of car they drive, or who has the “better office.”. You know who doesn’t care about that stuff? Your children. Who else? The Judge of your case. In today’s technology-forward society, you may only physically go to your attorney’s office once or twice in the entire case.
