Nicholas Darus earned his B.S. in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008, and his Juris Doctor from the Phoenix School of Law. He began his legal career interning at the Glendale Prosecutor’s Office and clerking for Judge Cohen at the Maricopa County Superior Court.. In 2009, Darus co-founded Darus and Donlan, focusing on litigation including complex business disputes, dissolutions, and criminal proceedings. In 2016, he joined Knochel Law Offices, where he led litigation involving contract and tort claims. By 2021, he became a named partner in the firm, forming Knochel, Knochel & Darus. In 2024, Darus joined AJ Law, where he now concentrates on personal injury litigation.. Known for his sharp issue-spotting and strategic approach, Darus prides himself on delivering efficient service, comprehensive legal analysis, and client-centered advocacy. He has successfully handled multimillion-dollar cases as well as cases for individuals with modest means. I am a passionate advocate for my clients and represent physicians, licensed health care providers, practices, facilities, entities and groups in matters involving regulatory, licensing, practice management, compensation, compliance, reimbursement and expansion. I served as Trial Team lead at MCPDO, representing numerous defendants in jury and bench trials and continue to teach trial skills for various professional organizations. My strong background in litigation enables me to work effectively with clients to minimize their liability, develop best practices for future growth and help them realize their goals. My pro bono work focuses on non-profit boards and commissions, working on improving access to justice for children, the mentally ill and indigent. In my spare time I enjoy horse and dog sports with my AQHA horses and AKC Border Terriers.
