In addition to doing a great deal of pro bono for numerous underprivileged and non-English speaking clients, Rebecca spent almost 8 years volunteering with the Jacobs Light Foundation, an organization that provides essential items for U.S. troops. During her years as a lawyer, Rebecca has developed excellent skills in a number of essential legal areas, including research, drafting wills and other legal documents, and organizing financial and family information to complete estate plans.. During her academic career, she distinguished herself at The Pennsylvania State University where she earned her J.D. During a semester of study in St. Petersburg, Rebecca became fluent in Russian and independently studied classical voice.

I joined the Surprenant & Beneski, P.C. in 2005, working for more than 10 years as a case manager prior to becoming an attorney.I am proud to be the team leader of our Medicaid Planning team. I help families navigate the process, ensuring that the person needing Medicaid to off-set the expense of their care becomes eligible while maintaining the lifestyle of the spouse remaining at home. Additionally, I work to help to protect and preserve assets for future generations.

Personally, I am a mother of four children, Jenna, Renee Alex and Eric.  I am married to my high school sweetheart, Joe, and we live in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.  Outside of work, I have very little free time.   I wish I could say I had hobbies but most of my free time is spent going to my kids’ activities such as karate, soccer, scouts, etc.  I have been a girl scout leader for the past 9 years.  I am on the Board of the New Bedford Symphony.  I love to travel, especially with my family so that we can enjoy new places together.  In the past several years we have gone to Denver, Colorado, San Diego California, Cape Cod and Florida.  I love good wine, tea, Chesuncook Maine, warm weather, and a good book.

Christine Tennyson is the New Bedford elder law and healthcare advocacy attorney at Tennyson LNC. She attended the University of Massachusetts to earn her undergraduate degree, then went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from the Southern New England School of Law. With a background in nursing, she is uniquely qualified to help handle elder law matters of all kinds. Attorney Alexander J. Kalife graduated from New Bedford High School and received his B.A. from UMass Dartmouth. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Western New England College School of Law. While there, Attorney Kalife focused his studies on real estate and estate planning.  Attorney Kalife is a member of both the Massachusetts and Rhode Island bars. Before opening a practice in New Bedford, he was a criminal defense attorney in Providence, Rhode Island. As a life-long New Bedford and Fairhaven resident, he strives to keep the people of the area as rich as it history.
