I’m Tim Semelroth.  I grew up in Hiawatha, Iowa.  I’m married to my high school sweetheart and I’m a dad to three strong-willed kids.. Who do you represent?. I only work for people dealing with death or injury because of someone else’s fault.. What led you to this work?. My dad worked in a factory and my mom was a teacher.  They worked hard, played by the rules and raised five kids.  Thankfully, they didn’t have reason to hire a lawyer after a tragedy, but if they did, they would have had no idea who to call.. When you graduate from law school, you have to decide who you want to represent.  Some people choose to work for corporations.  Some people choose to work for the government.. I decided I was most comfortable representing working people – people like my parents.. What motivates you to do what you do?. When I started high school, I was five feet, two inches tall.  I wrestled in the 90-pound weight class.  I know what it’s like to be the little guy.. It really bothers me to see those with power – particularly insurance corporations – take advantage of people who don’t have the knowledge or the opportunity to stand up for themselves. I am forever amazed by the lengths that the insurance industry will go to deny or lowball a legitimate claim.  It keeps me very busy and a little ticked off.. It’s always an honor when someone asks you to be their voice, particularly at one of the most difficult times in their life.  I can sleep at night because I know I’m always working for the right side.. What do you do when you are not working as an attorney?. I volunteer as den leader for my son’s Cub Scout pack even though I’m horrible at making pinewood derby cars.. I play on a sand volleyball team with guys from high school even though our vertical leaps are receding faster than our hairlines.. When the weather isn’t nice enough for volleyball, I coach scary-smart kids on middle and high school mock trial teams.. And when we find an opening in our family’s ridiculously busy calendar, we try to go on vacations. I’ve found that nothing makes me appreciate Iowa more than a little time away from home.. If you weren’t an attorney, what would you be doing?. I would probably be a teacher like my mom. Well, not exactly like my mom because she taught home economics and I’m not a very good cook. But I’ve always enjoyed learning and helping people find answers. There are a lot of similarities between what I try to do in a courtroom and what a teacher does in a classroom.

I’m Farl Greene. I was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I’m the oldest of my parents’ three sons and the first person in my family to obtain a graduate degree. I’m married to the love of my life and I’m the proud father of two sons. I was a practicing chiropractor in Cedar Rapids before I decided to become an attorney.. During the course of my chiropractic education and my time as a practicing chiropractor, I learned that health includes mental and social well-being as well as physical well-being. As a result, I believe health is one of our most precious possessions.. As a chiropractor, I saw first-hand the effect injuries have on a person’s physical, mental, and social well-being. I saw how injuries cause pain, mental anguish, and loss of function, which in turn affect a person’s ability to perform simple daily tasks, to work, and to engage in hobbies, recreation, and social activities.. When someone’s carelessness injures another person and deprives that person of their health, I believe the injured person should be fully and fairly compensated for their loss. However, I have learned that people are frequently denied full and fair compensation in such situations.. As an attorney, I work to help people obtain full and fair compensation when someone else deprives them of their health.

I’m Dillon Besser. I grew up in Topeka, KS and am the son of long-haul truck driver and a special education teacher. After going to college in Liberty, Missouri and law school at the University of Iowa, I am proud to now call Cedar Rapids my home. My wife Brittney and I met within months of me moving here, making it even more clear this is the place for me.

I prefer to be called “Corey” by my family, friends, co-workers, peers, and clients. I grew up in Central City, Iowa. I’m the oldest of five children. I was the first child to graduate college in either my immediate or extended families.I represent people who are unable to work because of their physical or mental health conditions. All too often the disabled are denied disability benefits by the Social Security Administration. I try to help those who have been denied disability benefits to appeal and obtain the benefits that they deserve.

I joined the Army Rangers from 1982-1985.  My company was A Co. 1st Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment. My company spearheaded the invasion of Grenada in October 1983.

Growing up I learned how to serve client interests from my father and grandfather, who are both attorneys in northeast Iowa. They taught me to take a hands-on approach to learning and to work hard to understand the underlying causes of a conflict, not just address the immediate problem. I applied that philosophy throughout my academic and professional education by learning the construction industry beginning as a carpenter and then architectural intern at OPN Architects, SOM, and Kahler Slater Architects. After I earned my Bachelors of Architecture from Iowa State University and my Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa, I took a position as General Counsel with a contractor in eastern Iowa. Those experiences give me a pragmatic legal view based in developing and tailoring solutions to each client’s unique problem.. I was born and raised in Oelwein, Iowa. Today I live in Iowa City with my wife Brooke and two Great Danes. I traveled extensively throughout my life, including living in and studying architecture in Rome for five months, but Iowa has always drawn me back. When I am not working or traveling, I spend my free time giving back to my community through volunteer opportunities and helping to further ballroom dancing in the Cultural Corridor through Hawkeye Ballroom and USA Dance. I believe my diverse experiences and interests help me better understand my clients’ needs and serve each client more effectively.
