Michael Thomas Cooper joined the McLeod Law Group after serving three years with the Charleston County Public Defender’s Office.  As an Assistant Public Defender, Michael represented more than 750 individuals charged with serious crimes and misdemeanors.  Michael fought to protect the rights of his clients and to ensure their chance for a fair trial.  During his time with the Public Defender’s Office, Michael successfully negotiated favorable plea deals and won jury trials for indigent clients with a variety of charges, including homicides, robberies, serious drug offenses, property-related offenses, and financial crimes.. Michael Thomas Cooper grew up in Charleston where he attended the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and Bishop England High School.  Michael earned his B.A. in English from the College of Charleston and after graduating he attended the University Of South Carolina School Of Law.  In 2011, Michael graduated with Cum Laude honors and as a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe.. During law school, Michael worked for a plaintiff’s litigation firm in Charleston where he assisted with Class Action and Multi-District Litigation claims against national corporations and manufacturers.  Michael also participated in the Federal Litigation Clinic at the USC School of Law where he represented an individual whose civil rights were violated by a State institution.. Michael is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Christopher Inglese brings a variety of experience in land use planning, local government law, construction, property management, and government compliance. Since 1999 Christopher has been involved in residential renovation, property management and real estate acquisitions. Christopher has nine years of experience as a city planner working for the Historic City of Charleston. He has additional experience working for the City of Los Angeles Attorney’s office, and seven years as Executive Director of a local non-profit organization.. Christopher graduated Cum Laude from the Charleston School of Law in 2011. At the Charleston School of Law, he received two academic achievement awards and recognition for outstanding Pro Bono work. During Law School Christopher worked as a Planner for the City of Charleston Department of Planning, Preservation & Sustainability and received a national planning certificate from the American Institute of City Planners (AICP).. Since November 2011, Christopher has focused on local government law, planning and zoning, commercial real estate transactions, business law, personal injury, and property law. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Charleston County Bar, the American Planning Association, South Carolina Chapter of the APA, American Institute of Certified Planners, the Charleston County Community Development Advisory Board, the Planning & Zoning Committee for the Preservation Society and is an adjunct Professor at Trident Technical College.
