Carla is a career litigator who is passionate about being in the courtroom.  After graduating from law school, Carla joined the Monroe County State Attorney’s office where she prosecuted misdemeanors through first-degree felonies. She has been the lead attorney in over 50 jury trials. Carla currently defends clients in North Carolina who have been charged with traffic, DWI, theft, drug, or assault crimes.  Carla understands how to successfully defend her clients because she knows exactly what it takes to prosecute charges.  In addition to criminal law, Carla represents clients who are facing family law issues such as divorce, custody battles, alimony, and equitable distribution of property. Carla is conversational in Spanish and French.

After 18 years of big firm life, I opened my own office specializing in labor, employment, workers compensation, and mediation.  Since it is just me, conflicts are very rare.  Thus, I am able to represent both employees AND employers.  Working on both sides, plus mediating disputes, gives me insight into the total employment situation.  I like to think this makes me a better counselor for clients.
