The case settled 4 days before trial was set to begin.. Confidental - Jeremy was successful in achieving a confidential settlement on behalf of the family of a 13-year old boy who was killed as a result of negligence by a local municipality and a local landscaping company. The boy was fatally injured when he was riding a wheelchair through an open field and caused to fall and suffer catastrophic injuries from a concealed hole in the ground.. $986,000 - Mr. Geller proceeded to trial against the City of Chicago where a Chicago Police Officer collided head-on with our client resulting in serious back injuries. The City and Police Officer vigorously denied that the accident was their fault and never offered a penny to settle the case. At trial, Mr. Geller obtained an award of nearly one million dollars for his client.. $950,000 - settlement for a laborer who was injured at a Train Derailment when he was impaled by a metal pole.  The client suffered serious abdominal injuries.. $875,000 - recovered for  a construction worker who was injured when he fell from a ladder at a construction site.  The ladder was only 4 feet tall.   The injured client did not seek any medical treatment for more than a month after the fall.   The case settled a month before the trial.. $800,000 - recovery for a woman who slipped an fell on a cement parking barrier that was sitting in the middle of a city sidewalk.  An XSport gym owned the barrier and investigations revealed that the barrier was frequently being pushed by cars parking at the gym into the sidewalk.   The woman tripped over the barrier injuring her shoulders and neck.  The settlement will pay the woman and her family a structured payout for the remainder of her life.. $750,000 - settlement on behalf of FELA railroad employee injured in a METRA elevator.. $750,000 - settlement on behalf of woman who tripped over an extension cord at a MEIJER store and suffered low back injury requiring surgery.   Client had previous surgery to her back years ealier.. $590,000 - settlement on behalf of 79 year old woman who was struck by FEDEX delivery van driving 1 mile per hour.. $500,000 - policy limits settlement on behalf of woman who suffered fractured wrist and had surgery as a result of a car accident.. $500,000 - successfully negotiated a settlement of $500, on behalf of a woman who slipped and fell on ice on driveway in DuPage County.   The woman suffered a fracture to her ankle and required surgery.  Even though it had snowed and rained for 4 straight days before the accident, Jeremy was able to establish that the ice was an "unnatural accumulation" which caused the injury.   This case settled for the insurance policy limits without a lawsuit even being filed.. $400,000 - policy limits settlement on behalf of 60 year old man who suffered a neck injury and required surgery.  There was a 2 month wait until after accident until client began receiving treatment for his injuries.. $350,000 - verdict on behalf of a 55 year old woman who injured her knee as she was walking on a city sidewalk and fell into a hole on Rush's property which was concealed by trash and vegetation.   Despite there being no written complaints about the hole, Jeremy was able to establish that Rush knew about the hole on their property and that they were responsible.  Rush denied the woman was injured and only offered $8000 to settle the case.   This verdict was reported on the front page of the Jury Verdict Reporter. $325,000 - settlement in NURSING HOME case where client fell and broke her hip.. $300,000 - policy limits settlement for client hit by a drunk driver.. I have given my cell phone number many, many times so that I can be reached as needed.  I find that clients appreciate that personal touch.  Often times I return calls late at night or on weekends if that's the only available time.. My concentration is Workers' Compensation law.  After 31 years in this practice I would like to say that I've seen it all, but I'm sure that I have not.. Each day presents a new challange and new clients with their own specific, important problems.. On a personal level, if I'm not working I can be found riding one of my several bicycles.  I average 200 miles per week in the summer and less in the winter but will still go out as long as it's not too slippery.. I belong to several bike clubs in the area that vary in distance in speed.  One of the groups is a racing group and another is a travel group.  With the second group I have ridden in California, South Dakota, Wyoming, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, New York, South Carolina, Virginia, Toronto and Montreal.  We are currently planning next year's ride.

I offer legal advice and representation to victims of personal injuries, businesses involved in commercial disputes, legal and professional malpractice victims, and construction contractors involved in claims.  My approach is to give honest, straight-talking advice, and personally tailor my representation in order to obtain the best result possible, through settlement, mediation, or trial.. Away from work, I spend as much time with my family as possible.  One of my greatest enjoyments is as a coach for my kids' baseball, softball, and basketball teams, which I have done for more than 6 years.  My favorite hobbies include cooking, smoking meats, and playing guitar.

I handle court appearances in circuit court throughout the state of Illinois and at the Industrial Commission on a regular basis. I have also played an important role in many large settlements. Prior to being admitted to the bar in 2013, I externed for Judge Clare McWilliams in the Civil Division of the Cook County Circuit Court, and worked for the McLean County States Attorney’s Office in the felony drug division, securing a felony conviction. I also clerked for a firm specializing in asbestos litigation.. I was recently quoted in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin on the evolving law of distracted driving in Illinois.
