My practice encompasses the areas of commercial and business litigation, professional malpractice defense, eminent domain, and employment law. I have  tried numerous jury trials as lead counsel.. I have recently worked on cases involving construction litigation, Real Estate Commission disputes, eminent domain litigation, employment complaints filed with the Human Rights Commission and EEOC, libel and slander claims against media defendants, medical malpractice defense, real property disputes, and media access issues.

I have served clients in North Idaho for over 34 years with my work in real estate, business and commercial transactions, corporate law, and government relations. I was an Idaho State Senator from 1989 to 1994 and served as Assistant Minority Leader in 1993-1994. I was appointed by the Idaho State Bar to a six-year term on the Idaho Judicial Council, completing my service in 2005.. I handle a variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions, as well as counseling numerous small to national-sized companies on issues including contracts, commercial transactions, real estate acquisition and development, employment matters and corporate law.. I currently chair Coeur d'Alene, Idaho's urban renewal agency board in a volunteer capacity.  I also serve on the University of Idaho College Law Advisory Council..
