Jennifer is a graduate of Wittenberg University, (B.A.) and of Capital University Law School (J.D.). She is admitted to the Ohio bar, the Federal Bar – in the Southern District of Ohio, and is a member of the Ohio Bar Association.. During her years at Wittenberg, she was an intern at the Clark County prosecutor's office and the Office of University Communications at Wittenberg University. While studying Law at Capital, Jennifer gained priceless experience as an extern for the Family Advocacy clinic and CASA of Franklin County, and as a Legal Intern at Capital University Legal Clinic and Barr, Jones & Associates LLP.. It was during these intern and extern experiences that Jennifer received hands on experience representing clients under the supervision of attorneys at the clinic in Domestic, Probate, Guardian Ad Litem, and Step-parent Adoption cases.. In addition, after being admitted to the Ohio bar, she began in-depth training in client management, which included representing clients in criminal, domestic and bankruptcy hearings.. It was as the Legal Assistant for the Bankruptcy Department that Jennifer's skills were proven and she was chosen to be the Head Attorney in the Bankruptcy Department. After multiple months of intensive training with our Partners, Jason F. Barr and Andrew D. Jason James attended The Ohio State University with studies in Political Science, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Franklin University. Jason would go on to obtain his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School.. After being licensed by the Supreme Court of Ohio, Jason would become licensed to practice in the United States District Court in the Southern District of Ohio. Since that time Jason has been working in the field of consumer debtor bankruptcy representation for both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.. Jason is presently a member of the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association. He has also joined the Bankruptcy Committees with the Ohio and Federal Bar Association.

I consider myself very lucky.  Some of my early experiences are unique in my generation.  I started my education in a true one room school house in a rural area of upstate New York.  K through 8th grade in a single room with a coal stove as the only heat.  I was only there for two years, but I always felt protected by the older kids.. In 1956 my paternal grandfather died, and we moved back to the farm where my Dad was raised, a small town called Nassau, also upstate and not to be confused with the county on Long Island.  His Great Uncle was still operating the farm as his parents had.  A handful of cows, milked by hand.  Two draft horses to pull the various ancient pieces of equipment.  Loose hay, pitched onto the wagon by hand.  I can't say that I loved it, but you never fully recover from sheer hard work!!  And you don't suffer from it either.. I can contrast these truly bucolic pictures with working my way through law school in Columbus as a clerk in a Hospital Emergency Room.  The contrast between pitching hay on a warm summer day and dealing with the consistently stressed out people who populate an urban ER could not be greater.. For a number of years while practicing law I also had the privilege of being a supernumerary in the local opera company productions.  My high point was portraying a high church official, in the spotlight, with one of the stars, the evil Baron Scarpia, kneeling at my feet.  These non-singing, silent roles RARELY involve more than filling up the stage.  A brief moment in the spotlight for a fellow who can't sing a note was an outstanding memorable moment.. It has been a lot of fun, and always interesting.  I've been lucky.

I always believe in helping others by doing to following:. I understand the legal process can be confusing and fairly intimidating to most people. I also understand that people can be scared about the situations that they are surrounded with. My goal is to help other people understand what their problems are, and how I can help them deal with their problems.
