Mr. Thornhill graduated second in his class from the University of Florida School of Law, was on Law Review, received the Book Award for Torts, Contracts, and Property, and received Order of the Coif. He was magna cum laude from Dartmouth College and second in his class from Winter Haven Senior High. Prior to working at Howell & Thornhill, Mr. Thornhill worked as a law clerk for Judge Federico Moreno, the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Thornhill is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

A little about me. I come from a long line of doctors. My dad was an internist and my grandfather was an OBGYN.  I had an uncle who was a surgeon and another uncle who was a neurosurgeon. Doctors in my family tree go all the way back to my great great grandfather who was a surgeon in the civil war.  Although we came from a medically dominated family my brother I both deviated from this path and became attorneys.. Virtually all of our practice is devoted to representing and caring for “people with medical problems", personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice and social security disability.  Coming from the background I came from has proven to be a positive and helpful resource.. Personally I am involved with my Church, Christ Community Church, serve on the Board of Directors of Tri-County Human Services, Inc. and have served on the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels.. Professionally I am a member of The Florida Bar, An Eagle member of The Florida Justice Association and The Polk County Trial Lawyers Association.  I am also a member of the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America..
