MICHAEL J. Katharine specializes in complex bankruptcy matters and related litigation. She represents consumer clients, bankruptcy trustees, and small businesses in a variety of transactional and litigation matters, with an emphasis on insolvency and reorganization. She assists clients in creditor negotiations, asset sales, business wind down and reorganizations. She has analyzed business across numerous industries to formulate strategic plans and manage risk. Katharine is committed to finding solutions to clients’ problem in a practical and cost-effective manner. She has represented businesses in successful reorganization efforts through Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and represented Chapter 7 trustees in avoidance actions, corporate Ponzi scheme cases and intricate asset sales.

I  focus on bankruptcy matters, financial restructuring, workouts, and reorganizations, including representing debtors, creditors and trustees. Over the years, I found that many clients prefer a "hands on" approach with their attorney when dealing with their everyday financial issues - instead of being just another number. After more than a decade in practice with a boutique bankruptcy law firm, I broke away so that I could provide more personalized service to my clients.. I have a passion for outdoor activities, including road biking, mountain biking, hiking, skiing and boating.  If I am not in the office, you can usually find me on the bike or on the slopes, depending on the season, spending quality time with my family.
