Philip Alterman earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado in 1975 and earned his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1978.  Prior to Elkind Alterman Harston PC, Mr. Alterman was the principal of the immigration law firm Carter and Alterman for 21 years and a partner at Stern Elkind Curray & Alterman from 2007 to 2009.  His practice encompasses all aspects of business and family immigration, with a particular focus on deportation and removal defense cases.  He has practiced immigration law exclusively since 1985.   Mr. Alterman has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 1985 and served as chair of the Colorado AILA Chapter in 1989.  He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers of America® in the field of immigration for over ten years, and has been selected for inclusion in Colorado Super Lawyers® Editions 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. Mr. Harston is a Founding Partner and the Managing Partner of the law firm of Elkind Alterman Harston PC where he practices immigration law, including business, family, asylum, and removal defense.   Since 1999, Mr. Harston's practice has focused primarily on business immigration, representing small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.  He also has worked with hundred's of families in the areas of family immigration, asylum, and removal defense.  Mr. Harston served on the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Colorado Chapter's Executive Committee from 2004 to 2009 and served as the Chapter Chair for AILA Colorado and on the AILA Board of Governors from 2007-08.   He also served on the Executive Council for the Immigration Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association from (2009-11) and as Chair of the Section (2009-10).  Mr. Harston has been a member of the AILA USCIS Denver Field Office Liaison Committee since 2009 and served as Chair of the Committee (2012-13).  He is an author and one of the Managing Editors for "Immigration Law for the Colorado Practitioner, " a two-volume treatise published by the Colorado Bar Association and he speaks frequently around the country on immigration law issues.  Mr. Harston is a member of AILA and the Immigration Committee of the Colorado Bar Association and has traveled to Washington, DC to lobby Congress for immigration reform.  Mr. Harston earned a juris doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law as well a master's degree from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies.  While completing his degrees, Mr. Harston interned in the Human Rights Program at the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia founded by former President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter.  He also was a recipient of a Public Interest Law Group clerkship to work at the Center for Human Rights Advocacy in Boulder, Colorado.   Mr. Harston received a bachelor's degree in history and philosophy from Allegheny College where he won the Don M. Larabee Prize for best senior thesis on history and the Philosophy Faculty Prize for excellence in the study of philosophy.  He has studied abroad in Spain and Costa Rica and is fluent in Spanish.  Mr. Harston is licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado and limits his practice to Immigration and Nationality law.  Law Week Colorado named Mr. Harston an "Up-And-Coming" lawyer in 2007.

Kyle W. Wasser is a U.S. citizen, but he grew up in Bolivia. When he lived there, he acquired a permanent residence. He has been on the other side of immigration law: as a client. When he returned to the United States to attend university, he attained a B.S. in Latin America Studies and Spanish with extremely high marks.. While attending law school, Kyle was active in Equal Justice Works and was one of the founding members of the Arkansas student chapter. Additionally, he was selected as the Production Editor of the Journal of Islamic Law and Culture and oversaw it's transition to an online format.. Since passing the bar, Kyle has devoted himself to criminal defense and providing low bono representation to victims of domestic violence and unnaccompanied children, as well as deportation defense and other immigration applications. Camila joined Elkind Alterman Harston in October 2011, after completing a two year clerkship with the Denver Immigration Court, through the DOJ Attorney General's Honors Program. Prior to working at the Immigration Court, Camila was a staff attorney at The Door's Legal Services Center in New York City, where she represented immigrant youth before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Executive Office for Immigration Review, as well as in New York State family courts.. She conducted trainings on Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and provided mentorship to attorneys representing immigrant youth throughout New York State. She further facilitated access to education and health care for undocumented youth in the city. Camila earned her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 2007, where she completed externships with the employment unit at Greater Boston Legal Services, with the Immigrant Defense Project in New York City, and with the U.S. District Court for the Federal District of Puerto Rico. Before entering law school, Camila taught high school Spanish in Washington, DC, was as an immigration paralegal at Ayuda, Inc. and worked on refugee resettlement issues for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in San Jose, Costa Rica. Camila received her bachelor's degree from Middlebury College in 1998 and is fluent in Spanish. She is admitted to the New York Bar and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Camila currently chairs the AILA-EOIR Liaison Committee and is an active mentor to Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network's pro bono counsel.
