Jennifer Chamberlain has not always wanted to be a personal injury lawyer in Denver. To the contrary, Jennifer grew up believing she was going to become a doctor because she was fascinated with medicine. Whenever she visited her grandmother, a nurse practitioner, Jennifer would borrow a new medical text book and memorize the , however, she also had a penetrating fear of needles. Once she was old enough to recognize that practicing medicine would most certainly involve needles, becoming a doctor was out of the question.. Fortunately, she had a backup plan. As a headstrong adolescent, Jennifer was often told she would make a great attorney. Listening to friends and family, she decided she wanted to practice law. Accordingly, Jennifer applied to and was accepted by Eastern Illinois University. Her path to the legal world was almost put on hold, however, when she was involved in a tragic accident shortly after graduating high school.. Just days after her 18th birthday, Jennifer was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a head-on collision at 70 miles per hour. Her entire body was thrown violently forward, fracturing her back and ribs. Her left foot was severely severed, requiring emergency surgery to reattach it. When she regained consciousness in the emergency room days later, Jennifer was told she would never walk normal again and would not be able to leave for college in the fall.. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Arkansas while earning the designation “Fulbright Senior Scholar,” winning the James W. Hudson Award for the study of History, and graduating summa cum laude.. After completing my undergraduate studies, I attended the University of Colorado Law School, where I received my Juris Doctorate. While in law school, I served as a research associate at the Natural Resources Law Center. Prior to graduation, I gained litigation experience while serving as a student attorney in the American Indian Law Clinic, as well as working for a criminal defense firm in Denver.. My practice is varied and is focused primarily in complex civil litigation, involving personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, constitutional law, and products liability matters. A large portion of my practice also focuses on litigation and appeals involving employment law, and more specifically the defense of police officers, sheriffs, and governmental officials in disciplinary actions across Colorado in state and federal courts, and administrative tribunals. I grew up in New York City. I decided to become a lawyer after I had a bad experience of with an attorney. I was young when a family friend referred me to a lawyer who seemed to want to help. It turned out they didn’t, and I could never get in touch with them. It was a difficult process and it ended up hurting me. I realized I could do a better job than that. I pursued a career in the law, vowing to do good work for my clients.. I thought I would go into corporate law, but realized I wouldn't be helping any one and I later fell in love with trial law. The judges at one of my trial law competitions in school asked me to join their new firm when I graduated. It happened to be a personal injury firm and I have been practicing personal injury law ever since. Along the way, in my ten plus years as an attorney, I represented the insurance companies in personal injury cases. Trying multiple defense cases.. I know where the Insurance companies are coming from and I can explain to my clients how the insurance companies work. A lot of clients, when they come through my door are broken. They have been through a lot and the insurance companies are bullying them. They dont know what to do. They come to me to even the score. That is what I  aim to do for my clients.
