After graduating from Lincoln High School, he completed his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University in Morgantown where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. In 1999, Travis graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law and was admitted to practice law in West Virginia that same year.. He has served as the Chairman of the West Virginia State Bar Social Security Committee since 2009.
