I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law (ranked 68th nationally) in 1996. Upon graduation, I returned to Minnesota, passed the bar on my first attempt and began practicing in criminal law and then family law. In 2003, I was admitted to the North Dakota bar and began practicing law on behalf of both personal injury plaintiffs and defendants. I soon began practicing in both Minnesota and North Dakota federal court (see Slivicki v. Dept. of Veteran's Affairs, 2006 WL 2780113, 2006 US DIST LEXIS 73437 and most recently, Larson v.
