My name is Action A. Lavitch, (yes, that is my real name). I founded Action Defense Law, because I staunchly believe that the presumption of innocence is the most sacred principle of our criminal justice system. For that reason, and because of my passion for helping people, I’ve spent my career defending countless individuals charged with the full gamut of crimes, ranging from misdemeanors to felonies.. As a native of Los Angeles, I attended college and law school locally, and spent the first part of my career working as a Trial Attorney with the Los Angeles Public Defenders Office. In recent years, I have dedicated my practice exclusively to providing criminal defense advocacy for the accused, helping them navigate through the complex criminal justice system. My seasoned trial skills stem from countless days spent in court, defending individuals charged with DUI, Drug Crimes, Theft, Weapons/Firearms, Gang Crimes, and Domestic Violence, among other criminal charges.. A major pillar of my success is rooted in the idea that no two cases are the same. My unyielding passion for justice drives me to design and execute creative defense strategies based on the unique circumstances of each case – there is no “one size fits all” approach. Likewise, my empathy, and compassion for those facing criminal charges is limitless. Most people believe that older lawyers are better attorneys because they tend to have more experience. While it's challenging to overstate the value of experience in law, I believe it is often confused with the idea of an individual honing their craft to perfection over many years. Unfortunately, what seems to be the case is many attorneys will learn what they learn at the beginning of their practice and stick with that.. An aspect many people might not consider is if an attorney is not consistently mindful, they may develop an unconscious level of hubris commensurate to their experience. If you believe that you have seen it all and know it all, then why would you ever bother to keep learning?. Law is constantly in flux. With new cases are being decided every day, and new legislation being signed into law by the legislature, it is entirely impossible to stick with what you "knew" while still being an effective lawyer for your clients.. As a relatively young lawyer, I believe I bring something unique to the table. I lack the hubris of more "experienced" attorneys so I am constantly learning and exploring new approaches to solving old problems. With me, you get the energy, drive, and passion necessary to achieve the maximum result in a case.. I take pride in the results I get for my clients. As much as may enjoy crushing the other side when they deserve it, it is often my opinion that fire and blood is not always the best option. Oftentimes, working together with the other side to resolve an issue can be just as, if not more productive. I have never done a mediation that has not settled.. I submit to you dear reader, that when you picture a man tirelessly honing his craft to perfection over many years, what you are imagining is me, or at least the ideal that I hold myself to.. While I spent quite of bit of time minimizing the benefits of experience above, I happen to have quite a bit of it when it comes to employment matters, personal injury, and property damage claims on high-end vehicles. I have achieved multiple seven-figure settlements, litigated class action lawsuits, and have developed a certain specialization in forcing insurance companies to play fair. I love what I do, which is why I haven't worked a day in my life since I passed the bar.
