The "misconduct" that is referred to was that I forgot to pay my Bar Association dues.

I am a Native Coloradan who has lived in the Englewood area for over 20 years.  I have worked closely in the law for several years, and love helping people who have been injured.  This area of the law is complex, and I feel that it is the greatest honor to serve people who are harmed.  I find that my clients have much to tell, and that their stories should be heard.

Doug Tisdale possesses globally recognized experience and expertise in the fields of bankruptcy, commercial default/enforcement, finance and real estate litigation and regulation. He represented the world’s largest real estate developer and property manager, Trammell Crow Company, for over 25 years and acted as outside general counsel for the client’s $1 Billion mixed-use development project in Orange County, California.  He has assisted national real estate developers, property managers and major commercial lenders in thousands of transactions and default/enforcement litigations in the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia.  He helped one of the world’s largest mining and mineral companies, Cyprus Amax Minerals Company, in complex international litigations involving the sales of companies in Australia and New Zealand.  Mr. Tisdale’s national experience in “mega-reorganizations” was established when he acted as counsel to Gillett Holdings, Inc. in a highly publicized and successful Chapter 11 reorganization case with $1.2 billion in structured debt.  Mr. Tisdale’s international experience includes his representation of the Government of Pakistan, in its efforts to repatriate billions of dollars from former government officials.  He also arranged the reorganization of the company responsible for the distribution of U.S. foreign aid for micro-economic development on the continent of Africa. Mr. Tisdale has also been a real estate developer in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado.  Mr. Tisdale was Mayor Pro Tem and City Councilman for Cherry Hills Village, Colorado.  He was on the Board of Trustees of the Vail Valley Medical Center for 15 years.  He was the Chairman of the Board of Eagle Health Care Center, Inc., in Eagle, Colorado.  He was Chairman of the Colorado Neurological Institute.  He was married to the late Patricia C. Tisdale, Esq. for 31 years before her untimely passing.  They had four children.  He is active in church activities.  Mr. Tisdale is a member of the Denver and Colorado Bar Associations.  He has served as a charity auctioneer for numerous charities in California and Colorado for 20 years.

Choosing A Lawyer. I know that it's tough trying to choose a lawyer. Keep in mind that NO lawyer can do it all well. So, if you meet one who claims he can do everything, I suggest you find another lawyer.. Once you choose a lawyer, the hourly rate is always scary. My goal is to have long-term clients, and that means making sure you are satisfied (delighted!) with my work and fees. I'm not your normal fee generator, and my invoices tell you exactly what I do in the time I charge. I want you back.. If you look at my areas of emphasis, they are all closely related to contracts in some way. It's what I do. I enjoy going to court to represent you and your contract rights. It's tough, but I like it.. If there is an area of law that I cannot practice at a high level, I will inform you and find someone for you who is very good in that area.. My Legal Philosophy. What most people need is a lawyer who is skilled at the law and who will apply those skills to their client's problems with common sense. I'm very big on the relationship between common sense and the law.. You can get more bears with honey than vinegar. My goal is to settle all disputes in a friendly manner. Obviously, that is not possible in every case. I give the other side enough rope to either perform as promised or hang themselves.. If being nice doesn't work, I am very willing to get tough. I love to be underestimated, and that happens with some frequency since I am in sole practice.
