J. Lindsey Ikram co-founded Wood Ikram Law Firm with her father, Randell K. Wood, in 2020. Lindsey Ikram brings a diverse background and broad experience to Wood Ikram Law Firm. She received her bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 2015. She has since assisted on multi-jurisdictional trade projects and complex financial transactions. Lindsay enjoys helping clients in a variety of ways, from realizing new business opportunities to righting an economic or personal injury. She applies this experience to her trial advocacy in both criminal, civil litigations, timeshare, and personal injury.

I was raised in small town in the Kansas City area. In high school I played tennis (poorly) and debated. I worked my way through college with a variety of odd jobs: waiter, janitor, and forklift driver. I became an attorney because I felt my employer was mistreating the employees; I wanted to help others like me. I dedicated my time in law school to public service and that is where I focus my career.. In my spare time I enjoy martial arts, shooting sports, hiking, hunting, and reading. I used to be an avid jogger, but a hip injury put an end to that.

I practice criminal defense, and immigration law. I represent criminal defendants in cases at the state and federal level involving DWI, assault, drug offenses, theft, and sexual offenses. My expertise encompasses all areas of immigration law, with special focus on deportation defense, family immigration, appeals and federal court litigation.. I am highly experienced in counseling immigrants and criminal defense attorneys about the immigration consequences of criminal activity. This sets me apart from most criminal defense attorneys, who have a very limited understanding of the immigration consequences for their clients.

I am licensed to practice law in five states:  Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, North Carolina, and Illinois.. My office is located in Kansas City, MO.. I wanted to become a lawyer since I was a teenager.  I enjoy developing meaningful long-term relationships with my clients.  I work hard on every case in an effort to try and get the most favorable outcome I can for my client.
