Through her involvement in the immigration clinic, Mrs. Laurita successfully prevented the deportation of her client.. In addition to her academic involvement, Mrs. Laurita has a passion for servitude. Mrs. Laurita volunteered with Adult Literacy League and taught a free 8-week Citizenship class to help members of the immigrant community prepare for their Naturalization interviews. Moreover, she has volunteered in several clinics to help low income immigrants apply for Temporary Protected Status and Naturalization..
