Rachel earned her B.A. in English from LSU in 1998, her M.Ed. in Secondary English Education from LSU in 1999, and her J.D. in 2004 from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the Loyola Law Review.  During her tenure on the Law Review, she earned the Warren E. Mouledoux Editor-in-Chief’s award for outstanding dedication to the review. She served as law clerk to the Honorable John R. Walker, 32nd Judicial District Court from 2004-2006.  She is an associate member of the Junior Auxiliary of Houma and serves on the Board of Trustees of St. Matthew’s Episcopal School.  She and her husband have three daughters.

I have been admitted to practice law in the following states: Illinois 1977, Florida 1977, and Louisiana 1981. Since 1981 I have resided and practiced law in Houma, Louisiana, and specialize in real estate and banking transactions.  My firm is approved to close bank loans with all the major lenders as well as the local community banks.  We write title insurance through Chicago Title Insurance Company and Commonwealth.  My previous employment was with a major title insurance company before I entered private law practice. My firm and employees are very active in various local civic and social organizations and strive to serve everyone in both our professional and personal lives.

I am a lifelong resident of Houma, Louisiana. I graduated from Nicholls State University with bachelor's and masters degrees and received my Juris Doctor Degree from Loyola University in New Orleans. I have been married for 44 years to Denise Marcel Alfred. We have two sons, Chris and Elliot, and two grandsons, Corey and Trey. I am a bad golfer and a very good cook. I believe all of my clients are entitled to be treated with fairness and dignity. I have been named Best Family Attorney in our area for a number of years by our local newspaper readers.
