He also spent time as an Immigration Specialist for refugee resettlement at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow. While there, he was awarded the Department of State’s Superior Honor Award for outstanding performance during the attempted Soviet coup of August 1991.. Mr. Thompson is a member of the Texas State Bar, the American Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association (AILA).
