Charles is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  Charles is “AV” peer review rated as a preeminent lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell and also rated “Superb” with a rating of 10 by AVVO.  Charles is a trained mediato adn focuses his practice on mediation and arbitration.  Charles serves on the State Bar of Texas Pattern Jury Charge Committee for “Business, Consumer, Insurance and Employment” and will step down from that position after three 3-year terms.. Born and raised in Houston, Turner is a first-generation college graduate, obtaining his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston Downtown and his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, Turner served in several student leadership positions and as a student attorney in the school’s civil law clinic, where he gained valuable experience helping indigent clients who could not otherwise afford legal representation.. Prior to joining Sorrels Law, Turner worked as a defense attorney in securities arbitration, professional liability, and personal injury, where he represented securities brokerage firms, financial advisors, real estate firms, realtors, trucking companies, and commercial airlines. Turner has also represented textile manufacturers, construction companies, energy companies, and Native American tribes in commercial litigation and arbitration, both as plaintiff and defendant.. After several years of working with insurance carriers and large corporations, Turner decided he was ready for a professional change where he could combine his love of the law with his passion for helping people.
