Eric D. Tindal was born in Iowa City, Iowa and was raised in Kalona, Iowa.   While still in high school Eric joined the United States Army Reserves and he served until 1999.  While in the military Eric was trained as a Combat Medic and a Respiratory Specialist.  From the age of 19 until graduating from law school Eric worked in the intensive care units at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Eric also worked for several years at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa and Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa.  This experience proved to be invaluable in working with injured clients and with expert witnesses.. Eric graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in May 2000 and started the practice of law in September of that year.  Eric was a founding member of the law firm Saylor and Tindal; and a founding member of the firm Nidey Erdahl Tindal & Fisher, PLC.  During that time Eric practiced in a broad spectrum of areas including but not limited to Criminal Defense in State and Federal Courts, Real Estate, Probate, Workers Compensation, Personal Injury, Tax and Appeals.  Eric has had the privilege of representing clients in dozens of jury trials in state and federal court.  This has included representation in various serious felony offenses including Murder in the First Degree.  The Iowa Bar Association requested that Eric teach new lawyers in Iowa about Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.  Eric is one of 15 attorneys approved as a Criminal Justice Act (CJA) attorney in the Southern District of Iowa, Davenport Division.  Eric has also argued before the Supreme Court of Iowa, the Iowa Court of Appeals, and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.. In 2017 Eric elected to focus his practice in the area of criminal defense, workers compensation, and personal injury.  The Law Office of J. Dick was admitted to the practice of law in Iowa in 1975. He has spent the last 40 years as a trial lawyer focused on representing health care professionals and institutions in medical malpractice litigation and regulatory proceedings. He has also successfully argued cases before the Iowa Court of Appeals and the Iowa Supreme Court. In recognition of his skills as a trial lawyer and the respect he has among lawyers on both sides of lawsuits, Dick has been elected by his peers to membership in the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers and the American College of Trial Lawyers.. Dick was born and raised in Iowa City. He received his undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Stanford University in 1971 and his law degree with honors from the University of Iowa in 1975. He then joined his father in law practice in Iowa City where he continues to live and practice. Dick is married to Buffie Tucker and they have two daughters, Jessica and Ashley. He enjoys being a Hawkeye, traveling, art and spending time with his family.

Dean grew up on a grain and livestock farm near Iowa City, passed the Certified Public Accountant exam, and focuses on pre-death estate planning and post-death trust/estate administration. His practice includes (i) establishing revocable (living) trusts to avoid probate and facilitate privacy, (ii) creating wills, trusts and retirement-account beneficiary designations with customized provisions to accomplish family-specific goals, such as delaying inheritances for immature beneficiaries, (iii) implementing powers of attorney for finances and for healthcare/medical directives (living wills), and (iv) administering probate estates and trusts and filing the necessary tax returns.

Carolyn (“Dazi”) Russell Wallace was born and raised in Iowa City. She left to attend college in North Carolina, returned to Iowa City for law school, and began practicing at the firm in October 2013.. Carolyn maintains a general law practice that includes both transactional and litigation components. On the transactional side, Carolyn assists clients with estate planning, real estate matters, reviewing and negotiating contracts, and other general transactional issues. Carolyn’s litigation practice focuses on defending physicians in medical malpractice cases. Carolyn particularly enjoys legal research and writing, and she routinely assists clients with appellate matters.. In her free time, Carolyn likes to read fiction, practice yoga, and visit museums.

Bruce is proud to have actively participated in a wide range of professional and volunteer groups throughout his career, including The American College of Trial Lawyers (State Committee), Iowa Defense Counsel (President), Defense Update Magazine (Board of Editors), American Board of Trial Advocates (member), and The Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (Midwest Regional Membership Chair & Board of Directors). Bruce is a past president of the Iowa State Bar Association and continues to serve on the administrative committee. He is also a member of the Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission and serves as the chair of the Language Access Subgroup and is a founding member of the New Iowans Legal Advice Clinic, which provides pro bono legal assistance to the community.. Having served as volunteer since 1977, Bruce’s involvement in the community has afforded him the opportunity to be involved in wide variety of organizations, his favorite of which is coaching youth sports.
