The law provides a level of empowerment when people feel heard, supported, and informed. This is one of the reasons I have been so drawn to legal work and specifically in working for those who are facing challenging circumstances or major changes in their lives. As a lawyer, I drawn on my legal education but also my educational background in family psychology, social work, and family interventions. I try my best to understand my clients' situations and see how I can most effectively help them acheive their objectives. Often times, clients' objectives are not to "win" but to have security in their next chapter of life.  Other times, they need a fierce advocate to assert their position in court or in negotiations. Whatever a client needs, I aim to show them the strongest case through ethical and strategic actions. And while I set advocacy aside when meeting with parties in mediation, I try to bring the same spirit of educated negotiations, constructive ways to find solutions, and ultimately confidence to take the next step.

I graduated from SUNY at Buffalo Law School and was admitted to practice law in 1985. Over the course of my career, I have handled cases involving both litigation and mediation. I have also built a collaborative law practice to help those going through a divorce or business dispute.
