Maxwell is presently an Attorney at Law with Stewart MacNichols and Harmell, in Kent Washington. In this position, he represents individuals as a court appointed public defender for the city of Kent. In addition to Maxwell's work as a public defender, he also works assisting individuals on a private basis for pending criminal matters. Maxwell is the Chief Supervising Defense Counsel for the Kent Municipal Court's Community Court and is also member of the Kent Municipal Court DUI Court Team. He has experience working in treatment courts and with individuals struggling from mental health, housing, and substance abuse issues.. Maxwell also works with indivduals attempting to clean up their criminal history and begin anew. He has experience vacating both felony and misdemeanor convictions as well as working to restore firearms rights for convicted indviduals. Maxwell understands the hinderances a criminal conviction can create and works to get his clients a fresh start through vacating those convictions and restoring rights where possible.. Maxwell is admitted to practice in the State of Washington, State of Colorado (Inactive), the US District Court for the Western District of Washington, and the Ninth Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.. Maxwell understands the anxiety, frustration, and insecurity that accompanies any legal matter.
