I have been representing clients on appeal for over 20 years. I have represented clients in hundreds appeals and postconviction proceedings, and I have had success in the Colorado Supreme Court, the Colorado Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and district and county courts throughout the state of Colorado.. I graduated in law with honors from University College London, which is ranked as one of the top universities internationally. I then obtained a postgraduate diploma in legal practice from the College of Law in London.. I am admitted to practice law in New York and Colorado. I am also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and I am a member of the Tenth Circuit Criminal Justice Act Panel.. I am a Colorado native and graduated from Evergreen high school.  After attending college at Trinity University in Texas, I returned to Denver and worked at the Colorado State Auditor's office and pursued my certified public accountant's license.  I then attended law school at the University of Denver.  In 1999, I moved to Washington D.C. and started my legal career with the United States Department of Justice, Tax Division, Western Criminal Enforcement Section as a federal prosecutor handling cases across the western half of the United States.  I gained a thorough knowledge of the inner workings of the IRS and gained expertise in criminal tax matters.  I have taken that knolwedge combined with my experience as a certified public accountant and have used it in private practice since 2004 to assist taxpayers with all types of tax issues including audits, collection matters, employment tax/trust fund issues, voluntary disclousres, offshore bank disclosures, offers in compromise, innocent spouse, identify theft, penalty abatements, tax appeals and U.S. Tax Court cases.  I have also represented many criminal clients and witnesses in criminal tax investigations and criminal tax prosecutions.. My partner and I also represent the Jefferson County Health Department and Board of Health so I have expertise in environmental and public health issues.. When I am not assisting clients, I am busy as a mom of three and find myself splitting my time between youth baseball fields, swim meets and dance studios.
