Why did you become an attorney? The underlying education was the primary reason for the desire to first become an attorney. Obviously, to make a good living and enjoy what you do is the ultimate career. I found that becoming an attorney was half the battle; becoming a great litigation attorney involves mastering the art of legal persuasion, which is best acquired by trial experience and years of training. The reward of client satisfaction and obtaining a great result on a difficult case truly gives me great satisfaction. Growing up, I had a very strong influence with my Father, Joseph L. Benson, Sr. who was also a personal injury lawyer (recipient of the 2011 NJA Nevada Lifetime Achievement Award). He was instrumental in my decisions throughout my young adulthood and early law practice.

Stephanie B. MacKeen received her bachelor of arts degree in Political Science from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, British Columbia, in 2000.  From 2002 through 2005, Ms. MacKeen studied law at New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. Through the summer of 2003, Ms. MacKeen studied Comparative Constitutional Law and Comparative Trial Systems in Europe, at the University of Malta, in Valetta, Malta.. During that time, Dawn also began working with an affiliate to the owners of the Aladdin to assemble and develop a 680-acre master planned community in the Northwest, including all real estate and development matters, financing arrangements and joint venture agreements for 2200 homes, a 27-hole golf course and a stand-alone casino. Dawn was responsible for the agreements between the owners and the hotel and casino operators including the gaming lease, the operating agreements and the joint easement agreements among all of the components, including the complex regulatory overlay.. Her transactional and bankruptcy experience extends to a variety of industries.
